SEO Terms You Should Know-Part 2

In the previous post – SEO Terms You Should Know — Part 1 has already explained the basic knowledge about SEO.

You will know the terms about linking in part 2. Besides Keywords and Key phrases, LINKS are other important factors to SEO.

301 Redirect

Can be defined as permanent redirect. For an example, at the search engine’s view, http://www.kyrosp.com and http://kyrosp.com may be considered as two different sites. Redirecting your non-preferred URL to your preferred URL is a important part for SEO. Spiders will be leaded to your preferred URL and your sites will be indexed correctly.

Backlink

Your URL link from other site is called backlink. This is an important factor to your SEO and Google Pagerank. Normally, it can be said the more backlinks you have, your site’s PR and Search result ranking would be better. However, there seems exceptional cases.

One Way Link

It is a type of backlink. Normally, it maintains the highest value. Only others link to you, you have not link back.

Two or more ways Link

It is another type of backlink. Sites link with each others. This kind of backlink maintains less value than One Way Link.

Inbound Link

All backlinks you have received are called Inbound Links, including all kind of backlinks ( one way link or two way link, etc.)

Outbound Link

Links from your site to others sites.

Internal Link

The links on your sites which are linking between your sites’ pages.

Link Farm / Factory (DON’T be THIS)

A site got many many backlinks from non-related sites will be treated as a Link Farm / Factory. Link Farm / Factory is SEO SPAMMING. Your sites may be rejected by the search engines and won’t be indexed.
If you were linked by a Link farm, don’t worry about that. The only case that you will be affected is you link back to those link farm. One way link from link farm would not affect you.
